Michael received a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the SMU Cox School of Business Administration, Southern Methodist University in Dallas Texas. For his undergraduate degree, he double majored in Accounting and Finance, with a minor in Real Estate Administration. His Master’s degree specialized in Small Business Entrepreneur Administration.

Michael has owned small businesses in Oklahoma, North Carolina, and Florida for 40+ years. As a small business owner, he understands the challenges of individual and family-owned business enterprises.

Other related experiences have included teaching as an Adjunct Professor at a local community college in North Carolina including instruction in Business Law and Microsoft Office Software applications.

Shortly after graduating from SMU, Michael began practicing tax preparation with his father, who had been an Enrolled Agent starting in the 1950’s. He learned how to prepare tax returns using standard IRS forms on manual typewriters and adding machines because tax software was not developed until the 1990’s. Today’s tax complexities require the use of software applications for the preparation of tax returns. Michael has experience using most of today’s major software platforms for tax preparation and is proficient in Quick Books used by many small business operations.

In 2003, Michael was admitted to Practice before the Internal Revenue Service as an Enrolled Agent himself. Enrolled Agents are authorized to represent taxpayers at all levels of the IRS in all 50 states as well as the state tax agencies within those 50 states.

Michael’s experience includes the preparation of Tax Returns for Individuals and Married Couples, Businesses, Corporations, Partnerships, Trusts and Estates both at the Federal and the State level. He has also prepared state tax returns in 14 out of 42 states that require payment of income taxes within their jurisdictions.

Michael has also represented his clients on tax matters with the Internal Revenue Service, and state tax agencies in Florida, Oklahoma, Georgia, North Carolina, New York, California and Oregon.
